The Great Spire
As they approached, a tiny speck of brightness launched itself from one of the great fissures that ran up the side of the spire. Blinking in the brilliant light, it made its fiery way out from the sheer stone in curving sweeps, circling upwards and outwards as it came ever closer to the sky ship. Slowly it resolved its immensity.
